Storage for the Poor

After the severe Tropical Cyclone Gita in 2018 and the Volcanic eruptions in 2022 and COVID19 pandemic, a much-needed donation of two forty-foot containers were received to store dry food, canned food, clothing, equipment, books, medical equipment, blankets, water, masks, before we distribute to the most affected areas and families. Society of St Vincent de Paul New Zealand donated these two containers and they been very useful to our work ever since.

It’s now 6 years since 2018 and 2022 with natural disasters ever looming for 5 months every year and these resources/equipment needs to be upgraded so that its shelf life can be stretched to 15-20 years. A new concrete foundation will be built to hold three storage containers plus a roof. In this way it will be safe from flood waters, rain and from the elements.
